There is an article of David Burch to extimate the VMC and CMG using simulation mode. I would like to know if there is a more direct way to extimate it. For example, it could be useful to have a feature in "polar analysis" displayng at the cursor a perpendicular line to the route to waypoint in order to identify the CMG graphically.

Hello,

I am not sure I correctly understand your need, but you can show the polar and "attach" it to the boat or to a route. This is available through the Display menu and contextual menu of the polar.
You can also show the microboard on the chart at boat's location which will show the direction of WP and best-CMG

Thanks for the information.
If I well understood, the best CMG (VMC) for the WP in the microboard, is calculated considering the wind in the Grib. Is it possible to refers the CMG to the wind from instruments?
If this is not possible, could be useful to replicate in the polar analysis, the same graphical method usually executed to calculate the best vmc: perpendicular line...

Best VMC (speed and angle) is calculated based on Instrument data in the microboard.

The main dashboard also shows these values in the WP tab
