Hello,

Thank you for making qtvlm, I am making progress in learning how to use it, and integrate it to my navigation flow.

One thing I am missing is for qtvlm to show a radar that is being made available by the Maraya server project (  github.com/MarineYachtRadar/mayara-server  ) . I do know that qtvlm supports many radar vendors directly, and that is working fine, but due to some restrictions in Raymarine networking for me, I am using the Mayara project together with my signalk server to make the data available to my navigation apps.

So, please consider adding this functionality to qtvlm.

Hi,

This is actually very doable, and we already have everything to wire it into qtVlm.

On which platform are you running qtVlm ?

What would be useful is the result of these 2 commands:

Hello,

Thank you for the fast reply, and its exciting to hear that you think this is possible.

I use qtvlm primarily on Fedora Linux 44 KDE Plasma Edition with wayland, and on ipad. I have it on windows 11 too, but that will change as I bring qtvlm more in to my primary operation and can remove my current windows nav app.

Here is the output you require. I am available for testing checking as you need, until mid october when I will leave the boat.

Thanks, that was the missing piece.

So in fact you can already try beta17 available on our site, download section, preferably Windows first then Linux.

Radar tab: source "Mayara server", URL mcs.local:6502 , radar id empty (only one radar listed). If .local does not resolve on Windows, the Pi's IP instead.

If nothing shows:
In Configuration advanced tab enable 'Collect info for support", then restart qtVlm, have the radar layer trying to connect for a minute or so, and then Help->Send info to support and email me the zip at support@meltemus.com.

On windows it seems to work just fine. I will play with it and see that all functions and controls are behaving.

Windows resolved mcs.local, no problem.

Great,
In fact everything or almost was already coded, it was just a matter of wiring it specifically for it.
What you should test is Range/Gain and Sea with auto/Rain commands and also Doppler on/off. Also if the picture comes back by itself after a Mayara restart. The Linux beta should work all the same, and I am confident it will also work on iOS (but no beta on that platform).
Note that this version was and is still due to be officially released this evening.
